My birthday gift from Ray this year was a trip to Arches National Park. That included staying in Moab, a cute little tourist town, visiting Canyonlands National Park, doing some horseback riding and white-water rafting. Please enjoy our slideshow and remember to keep “Walking the Walk!”

Can you see me at the bottom of Balance Rock? It was an amazing site.

Turret arch was interesting.
Afternoon shadows are starting to fall.
These arches took millions upon millions of years to form, however you can see where some are slowing forming now.
This view is called Park Avenue. Doesn
Our horseback riding adventure was beautiful. The trail took us through many of the scenes shot in John Wayne movies as well as City Slickers and many others.
Home on the Range.
This is Dead Horse Point State Park. This is where Thelma and Louise drove off the cliff.
Pretty awesome view from up there.
Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park
This was an early morning start to drive to our launching point on the Colorado River for our white-water rafting trip.
Loading up the nine of us on the rafts.
Our guides were very well-informed and super vigilant on safety measures.
After the rapids became more intense than what you see, we had to put our phones away in waterproof boxes. But we actually did class three and four grade rapids. At one point we actually went down something very similar to a waterfall with a 12-foot drop. Wheeeeeee!
The rock walls surrounding us were amazing.
Lunch on the Colorado River was great.
This was the refurbished general store in the town of Cisco, population: 7, that was featured in Thelma and Louise.
Early morning view on our last day there. Heading home on our nine-hour trek after this.

We had a great time and learned a new travel trick to keep from getting so tired while driving: We took the total number of miles, 689, and divided it by four legs which equals 172 miles in each leg. We set the odometer for that and the time seem to just fly by and we were not nearly as tired as driving for an undetermined amount of time. Try it on your next road trip.
